Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine which involves the insertion of very fine needles into the skin. These needles stimulate points of energy that lie beneath the surface of skin in order to effect a healing reaction in the body.

My Approach

My initial interest in acupuncture came about in my mid-thirties when I sought it out in order to address low energy levels. Having been exceedingly impressed with the results, I felt suitably inspired to embark on a training course at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. There I studied under some of the leading teachers of acupuncture in the UK and my practice now integrates the traditional style of treatment that prevails in China, as well as the Five Elements approach which was developed in the 1970s. Drawing from both of these strands of acupuncture enables me to treat conditions which are either physical or emotional in nature.
