Shiatsu

Literally meaning "finger pressure", Shiatsu is a powerful form of body thearpy which developed in Japan. As its roots lie in the same principles which are at the heart of acupuncture, it similarly uses channels and point of energy to affect change.

My Approach

I first became aware of Shiatsu whilst working as an English teacher in Japan in my mid-twenties. Later I returned to the UK and embarked upon formal training which led to me becoming a full-time practitioner in the late 1990s. During my Shiatsu career, I have encountered a broad spectrum of patients with a wide array of conditions and I continue to value this simple but profound healing method. By employing manipulative techniques such as stretching as well as supportive hand pressure during a treatment, I aim to leave each recipient feeling re-balanced as well as relaxed and energized.
